Help Talon and his Family

Our beautiful fun loving boy Talon is currently fighting for his life in Randwick Childrens Hospital ICU.

He started off with a cough which quickly escalated in Shoalhaven hospital. Within a couple of days his lungs were unable to sustain oxygen & clear the carbon dioxide from his body, and in turn he has been intubated, been put into an induced coma, put on a ventilator, his lungs have collapsed, he has a bacterial infection and has also gained Pneumonia.

If this treatment doesn't work the last option is the ECMO machine/lung dialysis. There was a moment yesterday where Talon took another turn for the worst but thankfully the ECMO was taken back & the medical team made the decision to turn him over ( prone him ) and he stabilised enough not to need it at the moment.

At the noment it is an hour by hour painful wait to see if Talon can try and turn a corner and make it through this.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Talon will know how much of a firecracker he is! He would take the shirt off his back for any one and will do anything for a laugh! He is a loving, strong, smart, kind, boisterous young boy who has only just begun his journey in life. It is absolutely devastating that at 11 years old he is having to fight so hard to be here.

His parents have been by his side since the beginning and even though medical bills so far are covered through the public system, future specialist appointments, future physio/rehabilitation, accomodation, parking, food and loss of income are not. We are unsure how long Talon will be here for and what else we will need but as we all know bills etc do not stop just because of an emergency. If anyone is able to help it would be very much appreciated. Any little bit helps.

* If we reach the target and it ends up being more money than needed, whatever is left over Tegan and Talon are wanting to donate it to the Randwick childrens hospital for there constant hard work around the clock to save our boy!

UPDATE:

I just want to thank each and every person who shared and donated our gofund me page for Talon. We have decided to stop any further donations as we feel we have reached more than enough money. So far we have raised $7,835 which is thousands more than what we ever could of imagined to raise. To achieve this is just over 24hrs speaks volumes and for each person who had a hand in making this happen we will be forever grateful . It will allow Tegan to remain by her sons side without the need to return home to work to make a living for as long as she needs to until he eventually comes home. It means any specialist appointments, physio or rehab appointments afterwards are going to be accessible and not a matter of "can i afford it this week or next?". Every single donation is a blessing and I can't put into words how extremely grateful we all are for them, Tegan was completely shocked to see how much love and support our community has for her family and especially Talon through the toughest time in both her and her sons life.

Thank you again everyone, you all hold a special place in our hearts and I know when Talon wakes up from this he will be extremely appreciative and amazed at everyone who has shown their support and love. ❤️
