I'm launching a fundraising campaign to help cover some of the additional expenses of treatment as I tackle cholangiocarcinoma. This health journey has been and will continue to be a community effort. Any amount donated at any time will be greatly appreciated and will go towards one or more of the expense categories listed below.
-Lodging: With Covid still being rampant, my family and I made the decision to temporarily relocate to Minnesota while in active treatment.
-Food: Getting enough calories, protein, and other nutrients is essential for promoting healing and good overall health with cholangiocarcinoma.
-Duncan Life(style) Support: Duncan is doing the very best job he can as an emotional support champion/spirt animal! Show him some love --- he'll love you back :-)
-Distractions and entertainment: anything to distract from thinking about cancer works :-)
Nuff Love,
Ja'Nelle

The cliff notes version of how I've gotten here:
"oh, well I was once diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver."
A refrain that almost cost me my life, if it weren't for an overachieving nurse practitioner at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. I crossed paths with her in January 2019, and by January 2020 I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (don't Google it, just follow the link I included). Following my newly adapted tradition NYE of life-changing updates, in January 2021 a tumor was found in my liver which has since been confirmed to be cancerous.
Cancer, you say?
Cancer, y'all.
Specifically, cholangiocarcinoma. Believe it or not, it's already been a long journey towards recovery, but all things come with a price. Fortunately I have phenomenal support from my family and a dear set of friends who have courageously taken up caretaker roles needed to help usher me through this.
