Tali's Bat Mitzvah Skiathon: Benefiting BOEC

Tax deductible
As part of my Bat Mitzvah Project, I'm hosting Tali's Bat Mitzvah Skiathon to fundraise and support the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. A Bat Mitzvah is a coming of age event in Judaism where I lead the congregation in service and take on an adult role.  In addition to the religious aspect, I am engaging in Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) by serving others.  I chose this organization because I want to help individuals with disabilities enjoy skiing.  These people depend on organizations like BOEC to participate in outdoor recreation that typical kids take for granted.  I am immensely grateful for all of the memories and joy that skiing with my family has brought to me.  Skiing has allowed us to disconnect, bond and challenge ourselves while being active in the fresh air.

In addition to my skiathon, I am volunteering my time in the adaptive ski program with children with disabilities. On Christmas Eve, I skied with a little girl with a developmental disability and seizure disorder.  She needed to be strapped to the lift and have my dad and I ski behind her while she had her lesson.  Knowing I gave her this gift is something I will never forget. Each and every donation you give will make a meaningful impact to the BOEC and their cause.

To raise money for this amazing program, I am hosting Tali's Bat Mitzvah Skiathon. What's a skiathon you ask?  I will spend a day skiing (a weekday when lift lines are short) and try to ski as much vertical footage as possible. Please support me with a flat donation or donation per 1000 vertical feet. I will be back in touch after the skiathon to report my exact statistics.  My goals is to ski at least 20,000 vertical feet.

If you are planning to donate per thousand vertical foot, please leave a note with contact information in the comments so I can get back in touch with you.  Flat donations are great too!  Another option is to come cheer me on March 3rd at Peak 9 at The Beaver Run Super Chair.

Skiathon date: March 3rd
Goal: 20,000 Vertical Feet ( at least)
