This year was my Batmitzvah year but because of Corona, I was not able to celebrate in the way I had wanted to. Despite this, I really want to do something to help others. So, I have decided to do a sponsored Kayak to try and raise money for 2 charities which are important to me:
1. Cancer Research: As many of you may know, my Granny has had Cancer for the last few years and has been amazing at getting on with her life and making the best of it. Also, she has been able to be on a recent trial which has really changed her life for the better. Like her I want others to be able to benefit from new treatments and so am raising money for Cancer Research.
2. Zaka: Zaka are a volunteer rescue and recovery organisation ready to respond to disasters and accidents. Whilst my Grandma and Grandpa were in Israel for my Batmitzvah a couple of months ago, my Grandpa fell whilst out on a hike cutting his head badly. Zaka came out to help carry him up the valley on a stretcher and I am thankful to them. I want to do what I can to help them to keep going and to help people like my Grandpa when they find themselves in difficulty.
