Talia's Surgery & Recovery Fund

Hi! My name is Talia and I am a transgender woman living in Queens, New York.

I recently underwent a gender-affirming breast augmentation procedure and facial feminization surgery which put me out of work and racked up some bills. I started working again in February, but I am about to undergo my third major procedure (hair graft). While this won’t put me out of work for months again, it will require some recovery time that will put me out of work for a shorter period of time, and require some additional funds for travel and other post-op expenses. I am grateful for the kindness everyone has shown me so far by donating! While most aspects of the procedures themselves are covered (thanks again to everyone who donated to my last GoFundMe over a year ago!) there are still a number of loose ends I need to have covered financially. These loose ends not only include financing the downtime during which I will be either completely debilitated or have greatly-reduced capability to work, but also:

-paying out of pocket for certain post-operative care

-hiring cars to get to doctors appointments when I am physically incapable of taking public transit

-paying for other related and unrelated medical care not covered by insurance, and, most importantly, paying my rent, bills, and food

-making sure I stay out of credit card or medical debt

-paying for any unforeseen post-op complications that may arise

Please donate what you can and share! This is the last big medical hurdle in my transition journey, at least for a long while, and removing the financial stress would go a long way in making this time less painful and stressful.
