8/16/19 a vehicle pulled out in front of me (unavoidably) and collided with them at 45mph with no warning.
Not only was my motorcycle totaled but the vehicle of the owner/operator at fault vehicle was totaled as well.
Upon impact I blacked out. I’m told my body flew 6 to 10 feet before bouncing to a stop on the asphalt. As a result I had burns on my back from the 102.F heated pavement, road rash on my right rib cage, my right humerus broken (which is un-cast-able because of other injuries), my right small finger broken and pinned, right thumb broken (as well as the flesh from the base of my nail being pulled off somehow exposing the bone), broken right fibia as well as many other bruises and injuries including severe trauma to my hip/groin from impact.
Doctors tell me because I “ragdolled” I sustained less injuries than if I had tensed up.
Truth be told though I didn’t choose to be tensed or relaxed. My helmet hit the vehicle which I’m guessing is what caused my blackout.
I have limited mobility, and even simple things like eating, bathing, and sleeping have become painful endeavors.
Im eating microwaveable meals in place of my normal nutritionally balanced diet because I can’t cut or cook anything. I am not left handed which makes eating anything with utensils a new challenge (I feel like) every single time I eat.
In in the accident my backpack was ripped open. The only lost item was my phone and as you can imagine this has made calling Uber’s to my doctor appointment, pharmacy, and attorney’s office EXTREMELY difficult.
I was in the process of saving for a truck this November for my birthday so I’d be one step closer to my dream of having the bike in the truck bed and pulling a trailer- living on the road traveling around the US.
I will be unable to work for 3 months I’m told.
Besides necessity living expenses (rent, food, electric, phone etc) I have medical bills and trying to rebuild from here now.
There’s no way I can do this alone.
