Taliah Anne's Lung Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Lynsey Anne and my teenage daughter Taliah Anne needs Lung Surgery. I am a single mom with three children, and any amount will ensure that Taliah is taken care of and she gets the Surgery that is needed to save her life.

Back in January 2015, Taliah was practicing for her cheer team at her school, when she fainted once while performing and again while being helped walking into the office. The cheer coach called me and notified me what happened. I immediately picked her up from school and took her to Northridge Hospital.
At Northridge Hospital, they ran many tests and xrays on her, and stated that it looked like she had "air bubbles" in her left lung. The doctors told us to follow up with her pediatrician just to make sure it wasn't anything else serious. I followed up with her pediatrician, and he sent her out to get Cat Scans done.

In April 2015 the Cat Scans came back, and her pediatrician informed us that there is a Cyst in her Left Lung and that she needs to follow up with a Specialist at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA). We found out that the Cyst is located in her Upper Left Lung and is taking up 30% of her breathing space.

In May 2015, we met with the Cardiothoracic Surgeon and she ordered Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) to gauge and moniter Taliah's breathing and lung functions. The results were borderline, and the Lung Surgery was optional at this time. And we were told to follow up within a year. We decided against the Surgery as long as Taliah didn't do any large amounts of elevations (such as flying or mountain climbing) and extreme amounts of pressure (such as deep sea diving or vigorous roller coasters) the Cyst seemed like it would remain the same size. This was extremely hard to try to convince a teenager that was going to Magic Mountain for her 8th Grade Grad Night to not go on certain roller coasters. But she understood the risks and made the correct decision not to go on any of the "Thrill Rides."

In May 2016, a year later, we followed up with the Pulmonary Department at CHLA, and Taliah completed the PFTs again, but this time the results weren't the same and there wasn't any improvement. Her surgeon called me and informed me that now her Lung Surgery is mandatory and will need to happen to save her life. The longer the Cyst remains in her Left Lung, the more chance there is for it to burst and instantly take her life, so the sooner the better.

We have scheduled an appointment with the surgeon this week, and will have all of the Dates and Details of her upcoming Lung Surgery.
