Talia's fight against breast cancer.

We have set up this page to help Talia, Jesse and baby Navy to get through Talia’s breast cancer battle which has shocked us all. She was diagnosed with Grade 2, triple positive Breast Cancer on 19th June 2019 when Navy was just 10 weeks old and things have moved fast since then. She will be getting chemo over 18 weeks, followed by a mastectomy (most likely a double) and then further treatment for another 9 months. It’ll be a long journey for the young family, so let’s show our love in any donations possible; a little can go a long way. Costs are to help for unfunded treatment drugs, dentist, prescriptions, regular hospital + fertility appointments, IVF cycle, loss of income etc which are easily adding up to about $60,000. The biggest costs are for an urgent round of IVF to preserve embryos as their family isn’t complete which is $10,000 (this is unfunded and chemo can cause infertility) and for Pertuzumab which costs $23,500. This is a drug that isn’t funded by the NZ government and needs to be given from the beginning of her chemo treatment which starts on July 18th 2019. It increases the effectiveness of the chemo drugs by 5-10%. It’s already been a rollercoaster ride and hopefully with these donations it will help alleviate any financial stress. Anything raised above this goal will go towards ongoing medial and treatment costs as well as helping to pay for expenses due to the loss of income over the next year or so.
