Talia Ximena journey against cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone
My name is Nayeli Garcia and I am the mother of a beautiful 1-year-old baby girl named Talia Ximena.
Talia Ximena was diagnosed with cancer at 8 months old and is still currently fighting cancer. Soon she will be going into transplant and recovery. ❤️
In December of 2023, we noticed Talia showing signs of a common cold. She had a runny nose and cough. We took her to the doctor and they told us she had a sinus infection. They gave us antibiotics to treat her symptoms and assured us she would be just fine. Around New Years, she started to develop a severely swollen face and eye (See picture for reference). We took her to the ER and, they told us she was having an allergic reaction to the original antibiotics given to her. They took her blood work and her results showed abnormal sightings. A week and a half later she was diagnosed with AML cancer (Cancer of the blood and bone marrow). We stayed at Loma Linda Hospital for about 5 months where Talia received chemo, more blood tests, MRIs, CT scans, lumber punctures, bone marrow tests, and numerous other exams. We recently transferred to CHLA to receive better care for her treatment. She continues to receive aggressive chemotherapy to help fight off all the cancer cells that still remain in her body. She is also waiting for a life-saving bone Marrow Transplant.
This journey has been hard on not only my daughter but on our entire family. I am a first-time mother so receiving the news of my daughter's illness was devastating. Watching her suffer and not knowing what was wrong or how I could help is something no parent should go through. There were times when she would not be able to breathe and I had to watch as doctors had to give her breathing treatments. The sight of tubes going down her throat was too much to bear. I had to watch my daughter cry and scream while doctors were giving her shots and running tests on her. We spent her first birthday in the hospital while she was hooked up to her chemo treatment.
These funds will help me pay her medical bills and other expenses that have been accumulating since her diagnosis. Any donations will be highly appreciated and no donation is too small. Thank you.
