Talia, a short film
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Amy Shaughnessy, and I am an actress living in Los Angeles, California.
I am currently working on my second short film, and I am seeking your help!
When I was a freshman in college at New York University, I met Talia.
Talia was a quiet, sweet, midwestern gal from LaOtto, Indiana. She had moved to New York City with big dreams, just like all of us in our musical theatre program. She was wildly talented, kind, generous, and one of the funniest people I had ever met. We instantly became best friends. We felt so lucky to have found each other.
In the summer of 2010, just before our junior year of college, Talia was riding her bike in her hometown, when a driver under the influence, struck and killed her instantly. Talia's death was a shock to all of those who loved her, and it changed my life forever.
For 13 years I have been wanting to tell a story about my processing of her death. I had lots of ideas, but could never find the right collaborators to help me get the job done. This past year, I finally found the two perfect people to write and direct this short film, and I couldn't be more excited to begin shooting. My writer, Joe Golc, and my director, Lindsay Harbert Silberman, happen to also BOTH be from Indiana... felt like Talia didn't want me to do this short until I found two Hoosiers to steer the ship.
Here's the thing though... short films cost money. I had anticipated this, but I am asking for assistance from the people that I love to help me make this dream a reality. Every little bit helps.
Donations will go towards equipment rentals, crew fees, HMU, craft services, color correcting, sound editing, score, film editing, and festival submissions.
Thank you for any and all help on this endeavor. I am grateful for every penny that is sent my way.
xx
