Donation protected
Thank you for considering support for Tales From The Bridge: The Misfit, the second short film in my Tales From The Bridge series. The first film, The Artist & The Muse, received recognition as a winner and semi-finalist at independent film festivals in Italy, France, and Australia. This response has only fueled my drive to expand on the series and dive even deeper into the world and themes that resonate in The Misfit.
Funding for this next installment will be pivotal in elevating the film’s quality, covering essentials such as:
Cinematic Equipment: To capture the story’s dynamic energy with visually compelling shots.
Locations & Studio Rentals: Access to beautiful, meaningful locations that bring the setting alive.
Transport & Logistics: Ensuring the seamless movement of cast and crew across multiple locations.
Care for Team & Talent: Providing meals and modest compensation for dedicated team members working at a fraction of their usual rates. Thus far, all involved have been on a volunteer collaboration basis.. If funds increase I can at least pay a modest amount to thank them for their time and efforts.
Set Design & Costuming: Enhancing authenticity and visual richness to deepen the audience’s immersion.
With your support, I aim to create a powerful, visually captivating experience that brings The Misfit to life on an entirely new level, continuing the series’ exploration of identity and freedom through an untamed lens.
Thank you for your consideration in helping make Tales From The Bridge: The Misfit a reality.

INTENTION STATEMENT
This film is the second in the Tales From The Bridge series—a short film and photographic story series—delving even deeper into my Japanese roots, through an untamed lens - the viewpoint of someone who doesn’t belong anywhere, yet belongs everywhere. I aim to expose the raw social depth, artistic fire, and cultural beauty these roots reach, all seen through a brutally honest, “from the bridge” perspective.
The story shatters convention, embracing wild, unapologetic freedom. The protagonist is a force of nature, unstoppable in a world that tries but fails to contain him. His journey is about breaking down barriers and living without limits. Trauma turns to power, and he smiles at fear—nothing can hold him back.
I want to capture that ecstatic feeling of life—the kind you experience on a lonesome walk, gazing at the infinite sky, smiling in awe, feeling like your heart could cave in from bliss and gratitude. That blissful freedom of simply existing, unrestrained and uncompromising.
People are complex, contradictory, beautiful yet simple. This film celebrates that chaos, where modern and traditional Japanese culture, art, and eccentric energy collide. Driven by visuals and sound, reality and dreams blur, and life unfolds without limits.
Masculinity and femininity coexist here, each powerful in its own right. Above all, this film is about dreaming without limits and making those dreams real, no matter how surreal or strange. It’s an invitation to break free, embrace the madness, and connect with the world—and each other—unapologetically.
THE STORY
The protagonist tears through Japan’s rule-bound world like a storm, raw and uncontainable—a living embodiment of freedom, moving with fierce, effortless defiance. His swagger, with his shoulders cutting through the air, naturally exudes a magnetic presence that can’t be ignored. He’s a true misfit, an outsider to the core, radiating an edge that makes him impossible to miss. Dress him in a suit, throw him in with the commuting masses, and he’s still unmistakably other, skimming the edges of society with a wildness that can’t be tamed. And yet, he’s deeply, fiercely Japanese in his own unorthodox way.
This film plunges into the electric thrill of living wide open, unrestrained and wild. Surreal dance sequences, a goddess-like presence, and bold Japanese influences collide—fusing the old with the modern and even kitsch, creating something chaotic, surreal, and even confusing, leaving much up to the audience to interpret. The movie is without dialogue, letting the visuals and soundtrack merge without interruption, a choice that feels intentionally unnecessary yet allows the story’s energy to flow uninhibited.
The protagonist channels a raw, untamed life force, moving between worlds where myth crashes into the gritty underground. Here, men are unapologetically men—strong, raw, and intense—while women match their power in their own uniquely feminine way, equally fierce and formidable. This is life at its most vivid: unfiltered, untethered, and unapologetically, fiercely alive.
