On 29/08/2025 our family was devastated by the sudden loss of 19-year-old Talen, who tragically died as a passenger in a car accident. His father, Pete, who was driving, is now in critical condition in the Gold Coast University Hospital ICU.

Talen was a bright, caring young man whose smile could light up any room. His life ended far too soon, leaving behind his mum Marley, and his siblings Jayden, Tamika, and Eli, the youngest, who has high support needs. Marley has been unable to work for the past year due to her youngest son having significant support needs.

Now, she faces the unimaginable, grieving the loss of her son while also being by Pete’s side as he fights for his life.

The reality is heartbreaking: alongside her grief, Marley must now find a way to cover the costs of Talen’s funeral, while also travelling to the Gold Coast, paying for accommodation, food, and hospital parking each day as she sits by Pete’s side in ICU. These small, relentless expenses quickly become overwhelming on top of funeral costs.
