Takunda Kanchi

It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we share the passing of our beloved Takunda on August 23rd. Takunda had a unique way of bringing people together—uniting us as family and friends—and even now, he continues to bring us together to celebrate his life in a way we never could have imagined.

His vibrant smile, kindness, warmth, and love lifted the spirits of everyone he encountered. A world-class athlete, a brother to many, a loyal friend, and a pillar of strength for our family, Takunda was taken from us far too soon.

As we reflect on his life and the incredible gift he was to us all, we now face the difficult task of bringing him back home to Zimbabwe from Canada, where he was pursuing his studies. We are reaching out to you—his friends, extended family, and community—for support in honoring him and paying our final respects.
