Takoya's Breast Cancer Support Fund

Takoya has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. After finding a mass in her right breast, she took initiative to have it evaluated. Ultrasound and mammogram performed with no clear answers. A biopsy and MRI were completed, leaving her with the news no one wants to hear, Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Estrogen+ Progesterone+ HER2+. An aggressive course of IV chemotherapy will begin mid to late January with surgery to follow. Due to the vigorous nature of the chemo treatment Takoya has been working with a Fertility Clinic to ensure her future family, as the chemo drugs will make that nearly impossible on her own. At this time we are still waiting for more testing (including genetic testing) to help determine whether mastectomy or lumpectomy will be preformed. Following surgery her Oncology team will then revaluate and decide what further treatments will be needed. Takoya has a long tough road ahead of her. This news has taken a toll on her and our family, opening the wound from losing our mother Cheryl in 2010 to her own Breast Cancer fight. ANY and ALL help is truly appreciated.
