Takoda has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his back left leg. It is treatable, and with surgery, he is likely to have many years of happy life remaining with us. Being able to treat immediately means he should be able to keep his leg; but if the condition grows worse, amputation is the only life saving measure available.
Takoda came to us while I was working in Afghanistan and has been a constant companion for my wife, Diana, every since that day. When I would come home on leave, he always made it a race to see who got to greet me first. He's enjoyed camping, hiking, kayaking, and cross-country trips with us and we're looking forward to more of that with him.
Funding will be used to aid with Takoda's vet bill for surgery and cancer medication. We are stretched thin after major vet bills for our German Shepherd in summer of 2019 and are struggling to make this happen as soon as possible. We are extremely grateful for anything to help us help our fuzzy buddy.
