I will return to São Miguel in the Azores, the Island where my film Water Tongue was born.

The film has been selected for the Azorean Film Festival, but this young festival can’t cover travel or accommodation. I’m raising funds to make the journey possible: flight, a bed, meals, and moving across the island.

It has been one year since this film came to life. To come back now, with the film, feels like returning something to the source. A chance for the island, the people, and the film to look back at themselves and have a conversation.

There is also the rare opportunity to attend a masterclass with Werner Herzog, who is on the festival jury, an encounter that would stay with me as a filmmaker.

Estou a tentar regressar a São Miguel, nos Açores, uma ilha que trago comigo, porque foi lá que nasceu o meu filme Língua D'água.

O filme foi seleccionado para o Azorean Film Festival, mas este festival jovem não consegue cobrir as despesas de viagem nem de alojamento. Estou a angariar fundos para tornar esta deslocação possível: o voo, uma cama, refeições e as deslocações na ilha.

Passou um ano e voltar agora, com o filme, sabe a devolver algo à sua origem. Uma oportunidade para a ilha, as pessoas e o filme se reverem e terem uma conversa.

Há ainda a rara possibilidade de participar numa masterclass com Werner Herzog, que integra o júri do festival, um encontro que, como cineasta, ficará comigo.
