Trevor was a gentle, kind and caring man who asked for very little in life. He always thought of others before himself and shared his skills but suffered so much. The youngest of four all of them were taken far too soon, one from a tragic accident falling from the rocks into the sea and the others from cancer. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour 13 years ago and struggled with weakness following treatment but it didn’t stop him from working hard and climbing trees until recently when the tumour came back.
I became his partner 9 years ago and it was an honour to share my life with him. We couldn’t earn much on the island so came to join me in England with the idea to earn enough to build our off-grid home on St Helena but his health meant he was never able to do that.
2020 has been hard for everyone but for Trevor particularly difficult. In February he was told there was no more treatment possible for the tumour, he was only 37. Then lockdown meant in his last months he was confined to a small flat, at least we had an allotment, his happy space. Then in September his mum was taken ill and we managed to get back to St Helena just in time to see her before she died and he returned to England full of plans but it was not to be.
His dying wish is to return to his island but all our savings were spent in seeing his mum and there is nothing left for his funeral or take his ashes home.
I will be in charge of final expenses and we need the funds before the end of December
Please help me to make this lovely man achieve at least one of the plans he wanted so much
