Taking the fight to Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma..
Donation protected
Hello Everyone. My name is Robert I had neck surgery on November 29th, 2022 to remove a very swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck. My doctor had earlier ordered the normal test Ct scan didn't show any major issues and the Biopsy came back benign. By the time my ENT surgeon had finished removing the lymph node and stitched my neck back together he was pretty sure I had lymphoma and informed my daughter. Once I was out of recovery and told of the strong possibility of having lymphoma and to be honest I wasn't shocked. My Doctor and I had discussed the possibility before scheduling surgery. The plan all along was to send the removed lymph node out for a complete biopsy to know for sure. I returned the following day to have the drain tube removed and then again on December 8th to remove the stitches and also get the complete biopsy results. The results confirmed Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with 90% being Follicular lymphoma grade 3A and 10% being diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
I had my first appointment at Texas Oncology in Odessa Texas December 13th to see my Oncologist and get started on scheduling the test required to determine what stage and then what chemotherapy treatment and schedule would be needed to start this fight. I will be updating this page as my test dates and results come in. Thank you all for your support in this fight.
