Help Sanibel Ocean's Reach Team

For those who have visited Ocean’s Reach on Sanibel Island – like our family has for many years – you know why it holds such a special place in our hearts. Ocean’s Reach is so much more than just a place that’s steps from the beach. It’s a place where you’re welcomed like an old friend. A place that renews your spirit. A place that truly is your island home.

A big part of what makes Ocean’s Reach so special is the team of people who work behind the scenes to make your stay memorable. Most of the familiar faces – Andy, Lisa, Dina, Sue, John, and Mike – have been with Ocean’s Reach for 10-15 years or more. Most of them live right there on Sanibel.

And now, their home -- both where they work and where they live -- has been devastated. We're hearing stories of homes swamped with six to nine feet of water, of windows and walls blown out by the storm, of vehicles ruined and family mementos washed away. The causeway has been torn apart and there’s no access to the island, making it unclear when Ocean’s Reach will be able to re-open, and uncertain how the staff will be able to restore their homes and lives in the meantime.

On behalf of all of us who feel like Ocean’s Reach is our island home, please join me in showing the staff how much we care. I’m a family member of one of the team, so you can be sure that every penny that comes through will go right to them.

We can’t wait until the welcome mat is rolled out once again at Ocean’s Reach. Until then, we’ll hold the team in our prayers and count the days until we can return to our precious island home.
