Hi , my name is Dr. Hanan Abdelaziz, I am a GP in Coventry . l have list my only child / daughter Afaf Ahmed in a tragic drowning accident in 25/8/2024 , just 2 weeks before she was ment to go to study at Liverpool university. I brought Afaf with my sister and elderly father as a single mother .

Afaf was a talented dancer , musician and singer . She was very clever , kind , caring and polite girl who is highly missed by her family , dance & academics teachers , neighbours, colleagues, friends & their families.

myself and her family formed a beautiful charity in her name and we called it : Afaf above the water as my last vision of her when she drowned, I saw her head above the water , which meant to me as always , she is above the struggles and challenges of life showing amazing strength, resilience and ability to cope with the difficult times .

The aim of the charity is to help humanity . Afaf always loved to help orphans, people in need , financially disadvantaged children and their families and more , please refer to the : Afaf above the water Charity flyer attached .

So far we held events to help the homeless population, elderly people at care homes , funded sewing course for women to help them to start small businesses and also shared in various healthy life style events in collaboration with various general practiced surgeries and community organisations in Coventry .

I will be so grateful if you will be able to sponsor me to take part in the Coventry half Marathon/ 10 K on 19/4/2026 in the city of Coventry to be able to help raising money to fulfil the good aims and the beautiful purposes of my daughter’s Afaf charity.
