Taking Care of Zion Edwards

This is Zion, he just turned 9 months old and has the sweetest grins with the most kissable dimples! Zion has 2 big sisters, Ivy and Isla. On June 2nd, 2021, Zion's parents (Caleb and Kaila Edwards) noticed that Zion had lost mobility in his right side of his body. After ruling out broken bones, dislocated joints, etc. CT scans and MRI's were done. The results of the first of the MRI scans showed signs of Zion having had a stroke. Childhood strokes are extremely rare, so further testing is being done to get answers on what caused the stroke and the best way to treat Zion. Zion will receive an angiogram to rule out any issues in his arteries and they are currently waiting on echocardiogram results to rule out any heart defects. Caleb and Kaila have met with cardiologists, hematologist, neurologist, physical therapist and occupational therapist. Doctors are confident that Zion can make a full recovery with regular and consistent care from each of the specialist, at least for the foreseeable future. The doctors are hopeful that he will fully recover and be at a low risk for future strokes with the help of an extensive medical team behind him; however the cost of Zions multiple and consistent therapies will also be extensive and we would like to help take some of the financial burden off of Caleb and Kaila because they already have so much on their plates. There will be a lot of unknowns for the Edwards family as they move forward with Zions care, so I would love for us as a community to gather together to help decrease the financial burden, so they can solely focus on the care and recovery of sweet baby Zion. Not only am I asking for financial support, but also for prayers. Even if you are unable to financially give, Caleb and Kaila ask for steady and specific prayers for the healing of Zion and strength and peace for them as they care for Zion, as well as their 2 little girls. Pray for the doctors to have the wisdom and knowledge that only the Lord can provide about what is best for Zion for now and for his future.
