Roberto Toro Cancer Treatment Fund

Please help me raise funds for the Toro family during this difficult time.

Roberto and his family with 5 children moved to Maryland last year on a journey to better the family. Roberto got a promotion with his job, and they sold their house they had in Texas and quickly moved to Maryland for a new opportunity.

In the year that they were in Maryland things were not always easy. Their youngest son was constantly sick and in and out of the hospital with little answers from the doctors as to why he was so sick. Roberto was working very hard in his new role and was pushing 60+ hours every week to ensure that he was successful and doing right by his family. Laura was taking care of their 5 kiddos and handling all the demands of Gabriel’s constant illnesses.

In January Roberto noticed a lump on his neck. The lump started to grow and he became increasingly concerned. He finally decided to schedule an appointment to have it looked at. During the same week Gabriel had pneumonia and ended up in the hospital and Elias got the flu and had to go to urgent care. Roberto was not feeling well and ended up going to the ER before his scheduled appointment and after a full body scan he was given a preliminary diagnosis of Lymphoma.

Laura called our family at 5am to tell us this disheartening news. We encouraged her not to panic, but it was not at all what they were expecting to hear.

At this time Roberto and the family had already started making plans to return to Texas, so after this news they sped up their timeline so he could start seeing oncologists at MD Anderson cancer center. He started testing in Maryland and had a biopsy to determine what type of Lymphoma he has

They have been back in Texas for about 3 weeks and after numerous appointments and a second set of biopsies, Roberto has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. His treatment has not yet been mapped out, but it will involve a combination of chemo therapy and radiation. This will affect his ability to work over the next several months and with 5 kids at home the financial burden can be overwhelming even during times of good health.

Please help me and my wife to raise some funds and put together a financial blessing for this amazing family. Anyone who knows them personally already knows that they are the type of people to give the shirt off their back to help someone in need. They would not openly ask for this type of financial assistance which is why we are doing this for them.

Thanks for your help….XOXO
