My Mom Dolores ("Dee," pictured left), who turned 86 last November, suffered a seriously debilitating stroke in early February 2021. Resolutely independent despite increasingly limited mobility until then, she now requires around-the-clock care in a local nursing home, most likely for the rest of her life.
The youngest and only surviving sibling of seven raised during the Great Depression, Mom and Max, her husband of 51 years until his passing in 2010, adopted me at the age of four months & made a loving home for me, as well as for numerous dogs & cats. She loved to garden, decorate, play poker & board games, & enjoy a glass of blackberry merlot on the back deck of the house on warm evenings. She taught me to appreciate music, Ernie Kovacs, spelling words exactly right, & she made the best matzo ball soup. The best.
Mom was always there for me. With this campaign I hope to help provide for her ongoing medical care in her time of need. Thank you for everything, Ma. Love you always!
