Back in January, we found a sweet boxer dog wandering alone and have been doing everything we can to locate her owners—but unfortunately, we've had no luck. We contacted local shelters and had her scanned for a microchip, but she didn’t have one. We’ve been calling her Ellie. When we first found her, she was very underweight, but with lots of love and care, we’ve helped her back to good health. Sadly, Ellie wasn’t house trained at first and had several accidents indoors, which ruined our carpets. Our landlord had to replace all the carpeting and is now requiring a pet deposit fee for us to keep her. As a single-parent family struggling financially, I simply can’t afford this extra expense.
