Takeoff // Short Film - Pickup Phase

Hello! My name is Avi and I'm a Junior film producing student at Columbia College Chicago. Over the past seven months, I've been working toward producing my passion project 'Takeoff.'

A year after losing his father in a plane crash, a young boy with a passion for aviation has his life turned upside-down by a whimsical babysitter.

At the end of September, we wrapped principal photography and captured the majority of our story. This project has come such a long way and is really shaping into a short film that I believe people will love.

There is no way we could have come as far as we have without the generous contributions and faith of our Indiegogo contributors who helped us finance the film over the summer. Even with all their support, the project required more funding to achieve everything that we set out to do, and so I carried forward my responsibility as the production company by personally funding the remainder of the budget.

It's been a dream to watch this story come to life, from my first keystrokes on an airplane to building the vastly complex and dedicated team that has worked toward realizing this vision.

In order to finish what we started, and carry us through pickups, post-production, and distribution, capital will be our most essential resource. We've been lucky enough to call in many favors, work with a sponsor (Huge shout out to Eleven04 Productions, our rental house sponsor!), and have a lovely team of filmmakers that have poured their energy into the formation of 'Takeoff.'
