Taken Too Soon RIP Sharif Omar
Donation protected
Sharif Abdulhameed Omar, 21, of Detroit, was called home by the Lord Tuesday July 7, 2020. He was born September 22, 1998 at Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Abdulhameed (Omar) Swilam Mohameed Omar and Michelle Detillion Currie.
At a very young age we realized how special Sharif was; he had figured out the rubics cube by the time he was seven! He was highly intelligent, full of life, and had a smile that brightened the room. He had so much energy, motivation and determination that he was a force of his own. Unstoppable when he put his mind to the task; he graduated from Western International Highschool and from there went off to the Private United States Marine Core. During his time training for the Marines he also managed to work towards and receive a degree in Financial Management. We are grateful that during his time in the Marines he was able to see some of the world. He was stationed in Japan for some time and was able to meet people from all over.
Sharif survived by his parents Michelle and Omar and his step father Bobbie Gene Currie; his two sisters Reasia Abdulhameed Omar and Shadia Abdulhameed Omar. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Angelika Currie and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was loved by many and we were lucky to have been apart of his life. Sharif enjoyed nothing more than a day in the sun with family and friends. He loved adventures and was definitely a thrill seeker; Riding his long board for miles, doing stunts and living life. He was also an amazing inspirational writter and so much more.
Sharif was Italian, Egyptian, Cherokee, Irish and German. He loved his heritage very much and we want nothing more than to follow his wishes. He was brought up Catholic but still valued his Muslim roots as well. He wanted to have a service at the Mosque and Most Holy Trinity Catholic church. From there he will be buried at Woodmere Cemetery where we hope to have a Honor Guard Service as well and then be buried.
As with an sudden death we are struggling to get everything together especially financially.
The last thing we want to do is ask for help but unfortunately we just lost our grandmother as well on May 11th and her funeral and memorial service has drained all our families funds. So we have no choice but ask for help, any little bit help will help. If you can't donate I understand but please share as much as possible. Please help our family give our Sharif the Funeral and Memorial he deserves. Thank you.
Also I know most people feel more comfortable donating through GoFundMe but they do take a percentage and it does take time for them to process the withdrawal so for anyone who is comfortable with doing so I am providing my PayPal info below. These funds will be accessible for us in minutes and without fees but again it is your discretion.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts♥️♥️♥️

I will also be updating info as we go as far as arrangements and where services will held once everything is finalized. If you would like to send flowers for the service or send your condolences. Thank you. Hope you all have an amazing day.
And don't forget to tell your loved ones how much you love them because you never know when they will gone
