Take Time for Tobin
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Tobin! I was born in August 2016 with Complex Congenital Heart Disease. Some of my defects include an Atrioventricular Septal Defect, Double Outlet Right Ventricle, Pulmonary Artresia, a small left ventricle, Asplenia (a fancy word meaning I don't have a spleen) and Situs Inversus Totalis (a condition that causes my organs to be inverted). But my mom just says I was made super special.
I had my first open heart surgery when I was just three weeks old and we planned to have my second one last week. Unfortunately, I got really sick twice this winter with viruses that made it very hard for my body to breathe and I am waiting to be strong enough to have such an important and dangerous operation.
My dad works for a hospital keeping people safe and my mom works for the state of Minnesota helping to make sure special kids like me are taken care of. I also have two big sisters at home and a big brother and big sister who we miss a lot.
I have been so lucky that my mom took a long break from work taking care of other kids to take care of me every day - even when I've been in the hospital with doctors and nurses all around. She is my biggest fan and makes sure that everything is done right to keep me safe, happy and healthy. Unfortunately, my mom will have to go back to work very soon, but I really need her here with me to help me through my surgeries and getting me better.
I hope you'll consider helping us with a donation. Mom and dad say it will help with our bills and things, but for me it means more time. I've been learning the difference between big and small - and even though it doesn't make sense, mom and dad said either amount would be HUGE!
