Take 'My Blood' to the Edinburgh Fringe 2024

Donation protected
We are ALL Productions, a new, student-run production company from Oxford. We want to take a new piece of student writing 'My Blood' to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year, following our successful run at the Burton Taylor Studio this February.

My Blood 4.5/5 Stars "Spellbinding, dramatic and witty; worth a watch" - A Youngish Perspective

After our nearly fully sell out run ( 4/5 shows sold out!) at the Burton Taylor Studio in Oxford this February, we are planning on taking My Blood to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024!! The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the world's leading performing arts festival and an unmissable, dream opportunity for every young creative. Going to the Fringe however will be impossible without your generous funding...

We are a student run company and totally non profitable, all of our cast and crew are non paid student volunteers and our project is fully fundraised. We have signed a contract with TheSpace UK Triplex Big for the play to be performed 12-17th August at the Fringe and are looking for your support to help us bring our project to life! Please come and see it if you can!

Come and see us in Edinburgh this August, here is our ticket link:

A synopsis of the play:

A gripping piece of new writing, My Blood is a psychological thriller loosely based on Aeschylus' Oresteia. Set in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, we follow the lives of a powerful banking family as they deal with personal tragedy. Devastated by their grief and the justice system's failure to hold their corrupt father accountable, the two adult children of the family decide to take justice into their own hands. The arrival of a stranger influences the course of events and as their plan starts to go wrong it becomes clear that not everything is as it seems...

A word from the writer/director:

I was inspired to start writing this play when I thought about the potential of exploring a story inspired by Greek tragedy in a modern American setting. We tend to think of people in ancient times as being very different to us. It is true that in certain ways and practices they were, but at our core we have never stopped being the same human beings. The tense family dynamics of the Oresteia and differing beliefs of each member about justice and self-righteousness following devastating loss and betrayal is something I felt I could translate into a modern setting. Every character in the play is inspired by one from the Oresteia (or in the case of Chloe, two characters). The play is set in an excitingly tense point in time – just after the 2008 Wall Street Crash and follows a powerful banking family during its aftermath as they deal with their own personal tragedy. It's a psychological thriller and crime drama full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

I'm a 21 year old student who loves writing and taking this play to the Fringe would be a dream come true! I am really touched by the very positive reaction we had to the play at our run in February and feel hopeful that with your support this play has the potential to do well at the Fringe. A lot of blood, sweat and tears has gone into this project and we are an entirely student run company, so your donation will be helping a team of young people all passionate about drama pursue a life-time dream of performing at the best performing arts festival in the world, thank you <3 .
