Take Me Home: Special Show for Mum Battling Cancer

Shhh this is a surprise.. My mum is my hero. She is the strongest, kindest and most selfless person I know. She deserves the world and more. Unfortunately, 3 years ago, after having been in remission for 15 years, mums cancer came back. The word 'terminal' shattered all of our hearts. She has been fighting her hardest to beat this thing to give her as much time with her family as she can. But over the past few months, she has slowly gotten sicker and sicker. We dont know how much time she has, but we want to make whatever time she has left as full of joy, love and smiles as possible. Mum has always been the biggest fan of John Denver and his music. I know most of his songs after having grown up listening to them. They hold a special place in my heart, because of how special they are to mum. Mum and her sister were set to attend the "Take Me Home" tour when it came to Adelaide, but unfortunately a case of chemo brain and confusion over dates meant my poor mum missed out. She was devastated. Bevan Gardiner from Take Me Home and his duo partner James Davy with their acoustic show Denver and Beyond have generously agreed to help recreate this experience especially for mum. This is where we need some help. We want to fly Bevan and James over to Adelaide, from New Zealand to surprise mum with this special performance. We're hoping to raise enough money to cover flights, accommodation, travel expenses and venue costs. Anything raised above what we need will be donated to the Cancer Council and/or Breast Cancer Foundation. I know this is going to bring so much joy to mum (and probably a lot of tears - but happy ones).
