Help Evie Represent Australia at the 2025 Oceania Cup!

Hi! My name is Evie Bosker, I’m a 19-year-old high jumper from Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, and I’ve just been selected to represent Australia at the 2025 Oceania Cup in Tonga!
This will be my first time wearing the green and gold, and I honestly couldn’t be more excited. Representing my country has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. While it’s not quite the Olympic uniform I imagined as a kid, it’s a huge step toward that dream—and one I’m ready to give everything for.

Why I’m Fundraising – It’s all quite expensive :(
This trip is entirely self-funded, so I need $3,500 hopefully paritially through community support. These funds will cover:
• Airfares
• Accommodation
• Team uniforms
• ‍Team levies and competition costs

Balancing full-time midwifery studies—a challenging and all-consuming course—alongside year-round training and part-time cafe work makes it tough to afford international travel and competition costs. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and allow me to focus more on my performance.

My Journey
I used to do cross-country running and dancing, but I kept getting beaten. As the middle child of seven, I guess I needed a source of attention. I was good at high jump, and I loved being good. I loved training, this ‘flying’ as i jump and I never wanted to stop.

I couldn’t find a coach within an hour of where I lived, and with understandably reluctant parents, I had to get creative with how I trained. I would hang tennis balls from the ceiling, sprint up my hilly driveway, and I wouldn’t go to sleep until I’d done an appropriate amount of jumping. Still, I use these practices—only now I’ve spotted my walls with 1.85cm markings and taken to visualisation.
When I got my licence and got all the freedom, I knuckled down and found a coach. I started training five times a week. Now, I live on the Sunshine Coast, and my coach is even closer! So, all the more reason to train more! This is hardly a relentless commitment, it's truly a joy.

After deciding I didn’t want to be the tallest girl in the world, I decided my goal was to go to the Olympics. For the last 14 years, I've stuck with this, through countless injuries and failures in my sport. This trip, this selection restores so much faith in myself, it feels like a huge step toward that goal… yet still being a dream in itself.
