"Take care of Rachel"

Hi, my name is Colleen and I'm fundraising for Rachel Melton in honor of her husband Josh. Josh was epileptic and on June 24th, 2023 he had a seizure in the middle of the night and didn't wake up. He was 28 years old, so full of life and goodness. We've created this gofundme to support his wife as she transitions into life without him.
I've had the pleasure of knowing both Josh and Rachel for the past 4 years. Josh started working in my company late summer of 2019. When I interviewed him I asked, "What are your goals?" and his answer was simple- "Take care of my wife, Rachel." For the last 4 years, that's exactly what he's done. Along with being recognized nationally for his sales performance with 3 separate clients, he also earned a promotion to management, helped coach countless men and women in person and virtually to level up their game, and became one of my absolute best friends. Josh was relentless in his pursuit of growth, unwavering in his work ethic, and unconditional in his love for others. Paired with the fact the man knew how to have a good time and bring joy to people around him, Josh was on his way to doing great things.
Rachel started in my company in 2020- I'd gotten to know her through Josh. I'd learned she shared similar values to our team and would make an amazing administrator. For the last 3 years, she's been the heart of our company- constantly cheering us on, supporting our every need, loving us regardless of anything, and also becoming one of my best friends. Rachel is the essence of optimism, someone who can see the best in anyone and any situation. She was so proud of what she and Josh were creating- both personally and professionally. Furthermore, our hearts go out to the Melton family and specifically Rachel. She has been going through a substantial amount of pain and suffering these past couple of weeks, it’s truly unbelievable. Her aunt, the woman who raised her, the person she called “mom”, passed away unexpectedly 1 week before her husband's heartbreaking news. As she traveled back home to take care of her family she was also struck by her dad becoming very ill and decided to stay back in her hometown to take care of him. Her game plan was to get him feeling better and to bring him back to Nashville to her and Joshes house so she could care for him while getting back to work. That’s the team-first mentality in her. As we know, on the morning of Saturday, 6/24, Rachel received a phone call that would change her life forever. She is a very strong woman, someone that will ALWAYS bring a smile to your face, but no matter how strong someone can be our hearts will forever go out to her.
Writing this is so hard- hard because I don't want any of what happened to be true. Hard because the reality is I won't get to see my friend and business partner anymore. Hard because I love Rachel.
I had a dream the night after Josh's passing. I was in my office and Josh walked in like every morning before- he smirked at me and said "Well, I still high-rolled the office. (Which he had, despite missing the biggest day of the week) I smiled. "Colls, I didn't think it'd go this way, but there's only one thing I'd ask- please take care of Rachel!"
That's what we intend to do, take care of Rachel. Josh was the primary provider for their family and lifestyle. We intend to raise funds to provide security and stability through this tough time.
Please help us honor Josh by honoring Rachel and helping us bring one of his life goals to fruition.
