Hi, my name is Jack and I am currently homeless. This isn't easy to share, but I'm doing everything I can to get back on my feet and I am asking for your help to take the next step toward stability and a better life.
I never imagined I'd end up in this situation. Ever since I was 15, I was prescribed medication to help me cope with my ADHD. When I was 19, I met up with a stranger I met online who got me hooked on other substances. Over the next couple of years, I was in and out of school, rehab and sober living. I have been without stable housing for 6 years and surviving day to day is a constant struggle - but I have not given up. I have decided to turn my life around after my addiction nearly killed me.
I am now sober, trying to get a job and a safe place to live to rebuild my life. I am exhausted by a life of survival among crime, and constant danger. I am applying for jobs but until I am able to get back up on my feet, I would really appreciate any donation or just sharing this post.
If you’re reading this after seeing me on Jubilee’s Middle Ground — thank you for taking the time. I was nervous that day, but I hope I was able to share something meaningful.
Funds raised here will go directly toward building stability and safety:
Housing outside the shelter system, to reduce daily drug temptations
Clean clothes and food (my EBT was recently cut off, and even when it’s active, living on the streets makes it hard to buy affordable bulk items)
Toiletries, transportation, and eventually a car
Overdue medical bills and legal fees
And something simple but important: the chance to experience joy again — whether that’s a movie, a museum, or just a normal day where survival isn’t the only focus
I’m asking for your help to give me a chance at a brighter future. I don’t want to be another statistic. With your support, I believe life can be great.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for believing in me. ❤️
