Taj Gang Welcome School, Agra, India

Donation protected
Hello,
I'm Rose, and I'm fundraising to help the kids at the Taj Ganj Welcome School in Agra, India. The school is non-denominational, receives no government assistance, and provides free education to the poorest children in the area. Without this school these kids would have no access or means to an education.

I visited this school on a recent motorcycle trip to India with Naim Ahmed at Enfield Adventure Tours. The school was started by Naim and his father Salim in 2010, with the help of some generous Australian donors.
A percentage of the money raised on these tours goes to support the school, which is run entirely on donations by kind contributors. These donations fund the ongoing costs of the school: books, pencils, uniforms, food for the kids, and teacher salaries.

About
The school has grown to 119 students, ranging in age from three to eleven years, and four teachers.
Meeting the kids was pure joy; they were so excited and had bright happy little faces. It was evident that they love their school, they love their friends and teachers, and they love learning.
What I personally loved is that not only are they learning literacy, mathematics, and social sciences, they are also learning pride in themselves, discipline, self-care and responsibility. All these skills will serve them well in creating a life for themselves, and I was inspired to help them in a way that is practical, and will make a difference.

Why Fundraise?
There is a large project - roof and solar panels, that has been waiting for capital funds for some time, and the kids and school would love your support with that and a few other projects:
1. The roof - work was begun some time ago to put a roof over the top story to create a weather protected play area for the kids. The Indian summer sun is sweltering! It was partially completed before costs exceeded the funds available, and it has been stalled for some time now. The posts are there, but no roof
2. Solar panels on the completed roof to reduce the schools electricity costs
3. Water filter – the water is not safe to drink and must be filtered. Filters are an ongoing expense as the water is particle heavy
4. Computers in a school are always a welcome addition for learning – and this school is no exception
5. LED Lamps for the kids to study by

What can you do?
1. If you feel to donate, know that the kids will benefit enormously. Every dollar will go the school, and every contribution of any amount will make a significant and lasting impact in the lives.
Thankyou in advance.

2. If you are able, please share with your community. The power of connecting for a common cause is powerful, and creating a lasting impact in a child's life is meaningful.
