Hi, my name is Brandon Fredricks, and I'm raising funds to create a memorial bench in Humboldt Park in honor of Brutus—and all the happy companions who walk its paths.

Brutus was a sweet boy and a loyal friend who walked beside us through every season of our lives. For eleven years, he explored these trails, wagging his tail and sniffing everything along the way. In his later years, when walking became too difficult, he would lie in the grass, soaking up the sun.

On March 28, we brought him through the park one last time, surrounded by love.

Now that he’s gone, we hope to honor his memory in a place he loved—with a bench where others can rest, reflect, and feel the quiet joy he brought into our lives.

The plaque on the bench will read:

In Memory of Brutus

Wagging tails, loyal hearts

Forever on these trails
