Hi, we are the Tailleferre Ensemble, a classical chamber music group dedicated to promoting women in music. We work hard to deliver performances across the UK that shine a light on neglected music, particularly women, and to deliver outreach chamber music workshops for both children and adults.
In 2023 we released our first album 'There Are Things to be Said' which was greeted with critical acclaim. We are now working on delivering our second album, which is going to be an exploration of women's voices, nature and the relationship between them. It is a very exciting project that focuses on the work of three contemporary women composers - Judith Weir, Cecilia McDowall and Ingrid Stölzel.
These days recording is a very expensive business, and in order to launch our project and get the album produced, we need to raise more funds. We believe in treating our musicians fairly, so as well as raising money for sound engineering and production, graphic design, label costs and distribution, we are also raising funds to be able to pay all the musicians properly for their valued time in rehearsing and recording.
In the lead-up to International Women's Day, which has the theme 'Give to Gain', we are asking our supporters to give a donation towards our next recording project.
