Taif Cooper contracted a rare infection after her Stoma surgery, that ate away at her lungs, causing lung failure. It poisoned her white blood cells so her immune system couldn’t fight it. It was already highly resistant to antibiotics so she had to have microbiologist changing her antibiotics every few days for 8weeks. She was induced into a coma and transferred hospitals for life support. She spent weeks on a tight rope with a chance of making it or not.

Her partner Jack was by her side every step of the way and her daughter would come to visit. For the whole family it’s been a very stressful event physically, mentally and financially.

The road is far from over as Taif has a lot of physical work to do and learning to walk again.

this is why I am reaching out to all of the Muay Thai community to support a family in need who lived and breathed the sport like many of us.
