Tai Po Fire Relief - UK Support Fundraiser (港 Canto Club Community Initiative)
What's happening?
On 26 November 2025, a massive fire ripped through the Wang Fuk Court housing estate in Tai Po, engulfing multiple high-rise residential blocks currently under renovation. The blaze began on the bamboo-scaffolded exterior and spread rapidly, reaching Hong Kong’s highest fire alarm level. Dozens of died, hundreds missing and many more injured or displaced.
This is a tragic incident and our hearts go out to everyone affected.
Many of us in the UK feel helpless watching from afar so this is a way for our community to contribute collectively.
We are gathering donations, which will be pooled and transferred in full to:

"All donations received (with no administrative fees deducted) will be used to offer cash grants or essential supplies to affected individuals and families, helping them cover urgent needs such as daily necessities, medical costs, and temporary accommodation." - hkskhwc
Because this organisation accepts donations in HKD, we will convert the total GBP amount and publish:
- Total GBP collected
- Total platform fees deducted
- Exchange rate used
- Total HKD sent
- Donation receipt from the charity
Donations close on 1st December 2025, 6PM UK Time so we can send the funds as quickly as possible.
This is a community-led initiative, not an official charity fundraiser. All funds will be passed directly to 香港聖公會福利協會 Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council.
