If you've come across this link it's because I'm in grave need of your support. For the last 3 and a half years, I have been a full time educator in Philadelphia, PA which is also my hometown. After living in Florida for 10 years, I decided to come back home so that I could be closer to family. While teaching students in grades 6-8 writing and social studies, I always remained active during freelance photography and film until COVID-19 struck a little over 18 months ago which drastically slowed down extra income I had coming in.

My time here has been a rollercoaster full of emotions filled with many ups and downs. Last week, I was hired by a nonprofit organization located in San Francisco, CA. The position is a Teen Tech Center Coordinator at a local high school in West Oakland. While I'm overjoyed and super excited to relocate and continue to educate the youth through STEM and Creative Arts initiatives, the cost of living in the Oakland/San Francisco area are drastically more expensive.

I officially signed my offer letter on August 5th, 2021 which also happens to be my birthday. What a great gift to receive!!! I'm so ready to take advantage of a such an amazing opportunity to run a after-school program non a new city that focuses on photography, video production and audio engineering. In order for me to make this a reality I will need some help financially to handle all of my obligations. I have to book a one-way flight, find a reasonable priced apartment that allows pets, ship my vehicle across country in a timely fashion, rent a car to drive my (2) loving dogs (Marlee & Rajah) to their new home and still be able to afford everyday living expenses.

Needless to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed but I'm extremely focused and determined to get it all done. My start date for my new gig is on August 18th. If you have the means to donate to this cause, I'd be beyond grateful. The typical rate for a studio or 1 bedroom rental in Oakland/San Francisco is $2500, and this isn't including the security deposit, rental insurance or pet fees. Anything that you can donate would help me reach my goal and help me solidify housing before I start my new position.
