Tahirah Abdul-Qadir, 13 year old martial artist from Syracuse, NY will be representing the WAKO USA National Team at the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) Cadets and Junior World Championships in Jesolo Lido, Italy in the Fall of 2018. Tahirah is not only a fierce martial arts competitor, she is also a “straight A” student, a peer mentor, and an all-around good person. When she’s not hitting the books or training at her dojo, she is sharing her knowledge by serving as a mentor to her peers or volunteering her time to address local and international social justice issues. In 2017, Tahirah joined the Jr. Leadership Team at her local martial arts school where she serves as an assistant instructor and shares her skills and passion for martial arts with 4-6 year olds in the Kid’s Excel Martial Arts Program. This year, Tahirah qualified to represent the United States to compete against Jr competitors from all over the World. She will be competing in point fighting (semi-contact kickboxing) and is determined to bring home the gold medal.  

All donations will go toward travel, hotel, registration and equipment fees. The WAKO Junior and Cadet World Championships will take place September 15-23, 2018. Most fees need to be paid at least a month in advance. We truly appreciate your support in joining us in our effort to send Tahirah on this life changing experience to represent the United States at the WAKO Junior World Championships.
