Tagg’s Battle Against Cancer
Donation protected
Friends and family,
Our beloved dog, Tagg, was originally the pet of Shayn’s college fraternity but found his forever home with us after we realized we couldn’t stand the thought of leaving him behind post-graduation. For the last 11 years, Tagg has been a central part of our lives, witnessing our milestones—from college graduations and our wedding, to comforting me when my mom passed away, and even moving across the country to Los Angeles with us.
Now, just as we celebrate his 13th birthday, we are met with the harsh reality of his mortality. He has been diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, which is a cancer currently isolated to a mass on his hind leg. Despite this setback, Tagg remains very much himself, and is an excellent candidate for treatment. We have a few options, including chemotherapy and radiation, but the best shot at completely curing him is a surgery that involves leg amputation. His overall health is remarkably strong, but all treatment options, including the surgery, aftercare, and pre-surgical screenings to ensure the cancer hasn’t spread, are costly, totaling an estimated $8,000 to $10,000+.
While we are prepared to cover these expenses, the financial impact is significant. We are reaching out to ask for any support you can offer—whether it be a donation, sharing this campaign, or sending positive thoughts and energy our way. Every bit of support will help us provide Tagg with the best possible care without compromising his future needs or our ability to manage emergencies.
With heartfelt thanks,
Shayn, Annie, & Tagg
