Taekwondo World Junior Championship Bulgaria

Hi all,

My daughter’s name is Yvette Boyama, 15 years of age and has been selected to attend the World Taekwondo Junior championships in Bulgaria from the 2nd-7th of August 2022. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a privilege for the first timer to represent her birth country Papua New Guinea.

Due to Covid-19 and limited funds for athletes from PNGTKD and PNGNOC, Financal preparations for her to attend this tournament with her team is short notice and does require funding for her to be present at the event. The funds raised will go directly towards her uniforms, return airfares and accommodation.

She has competed in all of the tournaments in Queensland and represented Queensland as a state age champion in 2021 at the Australian National championships in her black belt division category under 42kg. This will be her first international appearance and hopefully there will be many more to come. She is very grateful for the opportunity that PNG has offered her and looks forward to flying high the only PNG flag in Bulgaria to represent her country.
