Hi friends, I would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this. As the majority of you know, I’ve been practicing taekwondo for a long time (20+ years!), and it’s a very important part of my life. I would go so far as to say it is part of my identity, or how I define myself. Last year, I accomplished one of my taekwondo goals-placing first in my weight division at the 2016 National Collegiate Taekwondo Association (NCTA) Championships! As a result, I have been given the opportunity to participate in an international training camp in Muju, South Korea at the Taekwondowon in June 2017. I am incredibly honored and excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I am also humbled by and grateful for the generosity of the NCTA, which will be funding much of the trip. This GoFundMe is designed specifically to help cover the cost of the flight to and from Korea, which I am responsible for. As a graduate student, my income is very limited. Additionally, I have had to forego my primary source of summer funding in order to attend this training camp.
