Tackling Knife Crime. Victims of Homicide abroad.

Hi, we are the family and friends of Danny Castledine and we are raising funds towards tackling knife crime and supporting Victims of Homicide abroad. Danny was murdered whilst on holiday in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, families who lose a loved one abroad are not entitled to the same rights nor support as people murdered in this country.

 

Danny studied at Leeds Beckett University and developed a passion for travel. He loved nothing more than socialising with his family and friends and living life to the full. Sadly, this was cut short by an unnecessary, senseless act.

 

Every week, more than one British citizen is murdered abroad. Bereaved families face a long and challenging journey with no knowledge of what to do next.

 

Charities support and guide families with repatriation, providing lawyers in the foreign country, offering bereavement counselling, liaising with the foreign office and supporting through the legal and judicial system.

 

Danny's friends and family are completing a 10 mile charity walk on Saturday 16th July 2022 around the Matlock area, including a walk to the top of Black Rock. Black Rock was one of Danny's favourite places to go. We will be walking to raise money for Danny and the raise awareness towards knife crime and victim support for homicides abroad.
