Hi, My name is Catherine and I suffer from a very aggressive brain tumor that, unfortunately , has turned my life upside down. Just a few months ago I was living a fairly normal life. I’m married, I work full time and I have two pups at home. My first surgery in 2017 was successful in removing almost all of the adenoma. Radiation was suggested by the surgeon but the radiation oncologists disagreed with his assessment. The tumor not only recurred but became more aggressive and resistant to medication. After going in for surgery just a few days before Thanksgiving 2019, everything changed. My tumor was wrapped around the main artery in my brain which tore as a result of the effort causing an aneurysm. I received three brain stents, three blood transfusions, and was in a coma for a couple of days. In total, I spent 8 days in the ICU. After all of that, no tumor tissue was removed and it has been classified inoperable. It’s now pressing on my optic nerve causing me to lose vision in both eyes. I’m currently going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy. However, my insurance is not completely covering either treatment and, due to the current state of healthcare, I have to pay a huge portion out of pocket. My chemo alone is 3,200.00 a month. I’m on FMLA (unpaid ) and can’t afford that as I’m not sure many people could even with a full time job. My wife is currently home as well because, due to my vision loss, I can’t travel to my appointments alone or fully care for myself. We currently have no income,I’m 30 years old, and I have to take 6-9 different prescription drugs every single day. I need help keeping up. So, I’m asking for it . I’m trying to put all my energy into getting better but my financial situation is becoming too much. Anything you could give would go towards me fighting (and beating) this! I could only hope to afford my chemo but without a steady paycheck I’m behind on all my bills. With all my treatments I’m getting more in the mail everyday. This is completely out of character for me to do something like this and ask others for help so I appreciate it even if you took the time to read this. I’m also accepting prayers :) Thanks guys
