Any donations will be split evenly between Prostate Cancer UK and Band of Builders
1 in 8 dads, uncles, brothers, partners and mates are affected by the most common cancer in men in the UK, prostate cancer.
Putting that in perceptive, out of these trades on the site we're on, one of them will be impacted by Prostate Cancer.
That means 52,000 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer every year; that’s 143 men per day.
And tragically, one man will die from Prostate Cancer every 45 minutes. But with your help, we can make a difference.
On the 10th of December, I’m stepping into the ring to raise funds for two charities:
- Prostate Cancer UK where funds are used for research and supporting those impacted
- Band of Builders, a charity set up to help trades professionals who’ve fallen on hard times.
But the thing you can do RIGHT NOW that’s more important than donating is clicking share. The single most important way to make an impact is to raise awareness of early symptoms so your dad, brother or mate on site will see it, and it may just motivate them to get checked out early enough to make a difference.
Here’s the early signs of Prostate cancer….
- Difficulty starting to urinate or emptying your bladder
- A weak flow when you urinate
- A feeling that your bladder hasn’t emptied properly
- Dribbling urine after you finish urinating
- Needing to urinate more often than usual, especially at night
- A sudden need to urinate – you may sometimes leak urine before you get to the toilet.
And if you’re aged 50 or over, black or your father or brother has had prostate cancer. You’re higher risk.
If any of the symptoms sound familiar or if you’re in that higher risk bracket, head over to www.prostatecanceruk.org and get educated.
If you’re in a position to donate, there’s a link around this video and that’s hugely appreciated BUT most importantly, do the thing that’s FREE and is the most impactful. Hit share button, so someone you love may see this message when it matters most.
