Anastacio “Tacho” Marcia
Anastacio Marcia, or “Tacho”, as we call him at Finnegan’s, has been the head chef in our kitchen for the last 28 years.
Arriving from Honduras 30 years ago, Tacho did not speak any English. He is a self-taught chef and learned English all on his own. His early years working at Finnegan’s, he sent most of his salary to family in Honduras to pay for soccer balls and uniforms for the teams his family would play on. Tacho is a special kind of guy. He never misses work, he’s tireless, and he’s the backbone of our Finnegan’s family.
Almost 3 months ago, Tacho found out that he has cancer and he started aggressive chemotherapy last week.
For the first time in 28 years, Tacho can't be at work because of what he's going through. Our goal is to help raise money for Tacho and his family so that they’re able to continue life while “Tachi” goes through chemo.
If you’ve ever visited Finnegan’s, chances are you’ve heard “Hey buddy!” coming through the kitchen window while walking by. It’s our turn to help our “Buddy” and make sure we can see him in the window again!
Visit us at Finnegan's on Sunday, February 16th from 12-3pm for a fundraiser for Tacho. Tickets are $40 per person and it includes beer, wine, mimosas, and Bloody Mary's with buffet. Raffles, 50/50 prizes and more to benefit our friend. 100% of the proceeds go to Tacho and his family.
