TAC sub 3 Boston marathon in aid of IKA

Due to Covid-19 the Boston marathon has been cancelled for the first time in its 124 year history. In its place there is a virtual marathon taking place in September. Three Tallaght AC athletes, David Callaghan, David Fitzpatrick and David O’Callaghan (DaveAC) have qualified for the event and are now aiming to run the virtual event and in the process raise funds for the Irish Kidney Association (IKA). We have selected the IKA as a number of Tallaght AC club members have family members directly affected by kidney disorders and also the IKA’s annual fundraiser fun run/race was itself cancelled this year. The three Daves are aiming to run it under 3 hours each. 3 hours is considered a decent benchmark for marathon runners and annual statistics show that only 1% of all marathon finishers get below this barrier. 100% of funds raised will go directly to the IKA.
