Collette and Alex Tabone lost their Big Basin home to the CZU August Lightning Complex wildfire.
 

To say that Collette and Alex are dear members of the greater Santa Cruz community would be an understatement. Collette serves as director for the nonprofit dance and performance space Motion Pacific, and Alex works as a ranger for our local California State Parks. 
 

Collette and Alex are also simply good, kind-hearted people. If you’ve ever stuck around after a performance at Motion Pacific, you will have seen Alex breaking down the bar and Collette coiling extension cords, reconstructing the studio for the next day’s classes. If you’ve ever taken a class with Collette in that studio, you’ll know her as an excellent teacher, brilliant dancer, and, incidentally, a lover of inversions.
