Tabitha is a 30-year old single mother of a beautiful 10-year-old boy, Cody. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a child. Horizon Dental Care along with her family and friends would like to show their love and support of Tabitha in a Go Fund Me Account to help offset the mounting costs of out-of-pocket medical expenses.
As a single mom with CF, Tabitha does not let her illness consume her. She is an independent and proud young mother, raising her son on her own with no outside support. She is a very hard worker; a dependable, dedicated team member of Horizon Dental Care. She puts on a smile every day and you will never hear her complain. Her contagious smile and energy exude strength and confidence; the patients and her co-workers’ love her.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease for which there is no cure, affecting nearly all the body’s membrane tissues, mostly the lungs, sinuses and intestines, especially the pancreas. Patients with CF, often exhibit problems with breathing. Mucus clogs the lungs causing recurrent infections that leads to lung damage over time. CF patients need to undergo a daily regimen of medications with each meal. These medications as well as the many doctor office visits are very costly and are not completely covered by insurance, leaving the patient with staggering medical costs and lost time at work.
We invite you to join us help Tabitha pay down her medical costs. Due to the erratic nature of CF, out-of-pocket medical expenses can vary. Some months can be several hundred dollars depending on prescriptions or if Tabitha is ill and in need of IV antibiotics through her port or oral antibiotics. Costs can also vary depending on any unexpected hospital stays, emergency room,and doctor visits. All three of Tabitha’s Doctors’/specialists are in Philadelphia which is a 3.5 to 4-hour commute for her one way.
