Last Saturday, I got a call from Tabea at 12:07 PM that Tiptoe was down and caught in his fence. If you're reading this, you probably have heard of Tiptoe and you absolutely have heard of Tabea's many adopted problem "children." She is usually the one to discover a problem, is always the one to trouble-shoot a problem, and will show up whenever humanly possible to help solve a problem. Tabea is the emergency contact for most of my pets, and for so much more. To know her is to know she will show up and she will stay.

Here is the thing about a helicopter auntie, fairy godmother, calm in the storm - whatever you want to call her - it's hard to be a guardian angel without wheels (or wings). You cannot be an equine EMT time and time again without your own version of an ambulance. You cannot plan long term solutions for big problems without safe and reliable transportation.

So, if you've ever been hit with a bone-rattling crisis and your first call was Tabea, I'm asking for your help today. She needs a car that mechanics don't threaten to confiscate whenever she brings it in for work. I am just one of the hundreds of people and animals that know, in their hearts, that she will bring her infectious passion, increasingly precious hours, considerable brain power, and almost mythical understanding of the animal experience to them in their time of need. It's time for us to show up for her.

Let's light up our HUMAN SPARKLER with something flashy... I'm rooting HARD for a mini van. All money goes directly to Tabea to purchase a new safe vehicle.
